Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an individualised approach that is used with people who use behaviours of concern to develop a Positive Behaviour Support Plan. Behaviours of concern are unique to each individual and could include behaving in socially inappropriate ways, hurting self or others, breaking things, swearing, yelling, running away. If a behaviour is preventing someone from living their best life and achieving their goals, then it can be considered a behaviour of concern.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) aims to make behaviours of concern unnecessary by identifying and removing triggers, teaching new skills, and rewarding appropriate behaviour.
PBS works with the individual, family, service providers, and any other involved supports.
In addition to developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans, RAR Therapy is also a is able to provide restrictive practice consultations for clients living in the community and aged care facilities.
